The Texas Civil Justice League (TCJL) PAC today endorsed Senator Eddie Lucio (D-Brownsville) for re-election to the Texas Senate from District 27.
“Ever since his election to the Texas Senate in 1990, the TCJL PAC has stood behind Senator Lucio in his tireless efforts to improve the economy of Texas so that every citizen in the Rio Grande Valley has access to a quality education that leads to a good job,” said Hector Rivero, TCJL Chairman. “At a time when partisan politics seems to divide rather than unite us, we need Senator Lucio’s wisdom, leadership, and experience in the Texas Senate. He will work for solutions to the challenges Texans face every day in their jobs, their homes, and their schools, not just repeat a lot of political soundbites and empty rhetoric.”
“During his outstanding and productive tenure in the Senate, Senator Lucio has authored or sponsored critically important legislation to reduce frivolous lawsuits, attract more doctors and health care providers to the Rio Grande Valley, raise educator salaries, create incentives for small business, and lower property taxes,” said Carol Sims, TCJL Executive Director. “He is a champion for individual liberties and for the right of every Texan to pursue his or her dreams without undue interference from the state. We look forward to continuing to work with the Senator on policies to improve the lives of citizens of the Rio Grande Valley.”
Established in 1986, TCJL is a non-profit 501(c)(6) organization dedicated to improving the state’s economy by assuring that the courts operate efficiently, impartially, and independently and that the laws governing individual and business liability are fair, reasonable, and predictable. TCJL works with legislators from both sides of the aisle to advance policies that work for all Texans.
