After 5 terms in the Texas House, Rep. Patricia Harless, R-Spring, announced on Monday that she will not seek reelection in 2016.

“With a peaceful heart I share with you that I will not run for re-election,” Harless said in an email to supporters. “It has been an honor and a privilege to represent the constituents of District 126 in the Texas House of Representatives.”

Harless said that when she originally ran in 2006, her goals were simple and straightforward. They included being respectful of the institution, the members, and the process.
