Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Donna King of Leander as judge of the 26th Judicial District Court in Williamson County for a term to expire at the 2016 general election.

King is an attorney in private practice, associate municipal judge for the City of Leander and a magistrate judge for Williamson County. She is a past assistant county attorney for Williamson County and past assistant district attorney for Travis County. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Williamson County Bar Association and Texas Municipal Courts Association. She is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10427 and volunteer deputy registrar for Williamson County Elections. She is also a past member of the Austin Bar Association and Texas District and County Attorneys Association, and past volunteer for Georgetown Independent School District Mentoring Program.

King received a bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University and a law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.
