Early voting through day 3 in the 15 most populous counties is up slightly from 2008, with 10.75% of registered voters in those counties already voting this cycle, as compared to 10.23% in 2008.  2010, a gubernatorial year rather than a presidential year, showed only 5.22% early vote through day 3.  Most counties are showing within a percentage point or two of 2008 numbers, but there are a few notable exceptions.   Travis County early vote is way down, with only 8.88% now, down from 13.85% at this same time in 2008.  Two counties showed more than 2% difference, with increases over 2008.  Montgomery County reports 3rd day cumulative at 13.44%, up from 10.68% in 2008; and Galveston County reports 14.32% now over 11.81% in 2008.  These numbers are posted and updated daily on the Texas Secretary of State website at http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/earlyvoting/index.shtml .
