Brent Golemon announced his candidacy December 3, 2014.

Brent has been in leadership positions most of his life. He founded his first company at the age of 23, and has subsequently founded, co-founded, or acquired an ownership interest in more than fifteen companies providing general management and business development expertise. These companies include Advanced Legal Technologies, Elgin Fitness, Big Dog Hobbies, Media Tracking, Trinsic Technologies and KGB Consultants.

Born and raised in Texas, he grew up in Austin with summers and holidays spent at the family ranch outside of Mason, Texas where he learned to haul hay, mend fences and tend to livestock. He received his BA from Hampden-Sydney College, one of the most conservative colleges in the nation, in 1991 and upon graduation worked as a Legislative Aide for a Texas Senator and as Chief of Staff for a Texas House Representative. While working at the Texas Legislature, Brent received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Upon graduating from law school, Brent co-founded GalleryWatch, which was the nation’s first online legislative tracking service. He served as the company’s President until it was ultimately sold to The Economist Group in 2004.

Brent and his wife Cynthia live in Bastrop, Texas with their four children, four dogs and four cats. Cynthia is a graduate of Purdue University and has a Master’s Degree from Texas State. They enjoy spending time with their children while pursuing and encouraging their children’s passions. The family attends Lost Pines Bible Church in Bastrop.

Brent believes in being active in his community. As such, he has served on the Board of the Tahitian Village Property Owners Association, he has been appointed to the Board of the Bastrop County Water District and in 2011 he assisted the Bastrop Ministerial Alliance with the collection and distribution of over $750,000 to residents who had lost their homes and belongings in the Bastrop County Complex fires. He is also a contributor to the Bastrop Education Foundation, which provides grants to teachers in the district. His other non-profit contributions include assisting organizations like Vision Beyond Borders, Rotary International, The Bastrop Youth Football Organization, Tribe Consolidated, Bastrop Education Foundation, and Hope House among others.

Brent is an avid six-man football coach. He has spent the past eight years coaching youth, middle and high school football. He cherishes the title “Coach” and the ability to sow into the lives of future fathers and leaders.

Brent is an advocate of small business, free markets, limited government, fiscal responsibility, pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, secure borders and, the preservation of Judeo-Christian values in our culture.
